One of the beautiful things about BJJ is the variety of techniques and methods that are available to achieve a desired outcome. Such is the case when (not if) you find yourself embraced in the loving arms of your opponent,... otherwise known as a headlock. As pointed out in the video below, headlocks are not as common in BJJ for the simple reason that there is very little potential for submission from that position. However, that does not mean it does not occur from time to time.
You could find yourself in a headlock during a scramble, or perhaps from a more inexperienced practitioner. This is just as much a reality, if not more, off of the mats in a real fight.
